REVIEWW
Cinder was definitely a surprise for me! First of all it was my pick from my TBR Jar (books that I purchase every month get put in there after 20 days if I haven’t read them) and I was honestly cautious to read it because I wasn’t sure if I’d like it but boy oh boy did I love it!
It was a slow starting book that was full of political intrigue and by te end of the book the tension was at a boiling point.
Cinder follows a girl named cinder who is part cyborg, she’s below humans and her ‘guardian’ is er step mother who abuses her. So yes, this is based off Cinderella but this is in a sci fi world where creatures called Lunars who have the capability to control magic and what others see. Earth and Luna (the moon) are in a un-easy spot where neither is willing to accept the peace terms.
I found this story slow to start with and it took me a while to get into it but once I was, I didn’t want to put it down! I found Cinder to be a very likeable character as she was smart and made good decisions so there were no “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” moments! My other two favourite characters were Kai and the Doctor, who’s name I always forget. I found them both so likeable and entertaining.
I think this book excelled in the characters and plot but lacked a bit in the world, I know some details through info dumping, but there is a lot more that I don’t know and I feel like could’ve been answered.
Overall I gave this a 4 star rating and really enjoyed my time reading it! I’ll be buying the sequel ASAP!

Until next time,
Sarah
