BOOKS I READ IN AUGUST!

UNRAVEL ME – Tahereh Mafi
5/5 stars
beautiful. Amazing. Perfect. Lacking in Warner. This was even better than shatter me asdfghjkl

WINTERSONG – S J Jones
4.5/5 stars
I was a sobbing mess when it came to the end of this novel and my heart was literally shattered. It hurts to think about this.

RHAPSODIC – Laura Thalassa
2/5 stars
This was such a let down I dunno, it started strong but it didn’t capture my attention long enough and I spent the last quarter of the book dragging my feet and skim reading.

FRACTURE ME – Tahereh Mafi
3/5 stars
TOO MUCH ADAM. I really dislike Adam, the way he treats others is disgusting and it made me hate this so much THREE STARS FOR KENJI AND JAMES THOUGH

THE CAUSE OF DEATH – Dr Cynric Temple-Camp
4/5 stars
This was such an interesting read on death & interesting cases of murder and such. I sped through this so fast honestly.

THE HALF DROWNED KING – Linnea Hartsuyker
3/5 stars
I had high hopes for this and was a little let down. The world was interesting and the characters were vibrant but that was all I liked about it.

CINDER – Marrisa Meyer
4/5 stars
This was actually super fun? it was my tbr jar pick for August and I really enjoyed my time reading it! I found the start slow but it picked up by the end and I can’t wait to see what will happen

DIVIDING EDEN – Joelle Charbonneau
2.5/5 stars
This was just? not a great book. I loved one of the main characters, was constantly annoyed by the other and honestly didn’t really care.

THE LONLIEST GIRL IN THE UNIVERSE – Lauren James
4/5 stars
I went into this expecting a romance novel set in space, but in reality I got a one woman mission to save herself, and a thriller all packed into one, it was great!

BEYOND THE WALL – Tanya Landman
4/5 stars
This was so fun and really decent! it revived  my love for books set in Rome this was just  a fun read

GLITCHES – Marissa Meyer
4/5 stars
oh my poor Cinder! this made me feel so bad for her, but it also helped me understand her character better and I feel like it was well worth the read

113 MINUTES – James Patterson
3/5 stars
this was pretty mediocre in terms of writing and keeping me interested, BUT the plot twist at the end completely got me by surprise!

I AM TRAITOR – SIF SIGMARSDOTTIR

3/5 stars

This was? Not what I was expecting if I’m honest. It was a decent read, and it had a really nice background idea but the actual story was lacking

IGNITE ME – Tahereh Mafi

5/5 stars

This was phenomenal, it had the most beautiful growth of character towards the end, and Juliette learned to stand up for herself and my ship sailed. It just made me so happy

LETS CHAT ABOUT AUGUST!

I actually made a small error last month when I said my Physical TBR was 88, I included books on their way to me but I decided not to do that so my TBR was originally 75 & that is now the number I want to keep it under!

Total read this month: 15
Total read this year: 91
Current Goodreads goal: 100
Physical TBR: 79/75 (oh no! I’m already failing xD)

Until Next Time,
Sarah

      1. I mean his writing’s not bad by any means, but it definitely relies on interesting plots and plot twists a bit too much. Kind of like some action movies? like they’re not bad movies or anything but also not great but you don’t watch them to watch a good movie. If that makes any sense haha
