Top 5 Tuesday BOOKS THAT HAVE BEEN ON MY TBR THE LONGEST?

Hello and welcome to another installment of Top 5 Tuesdays, a tag hosted by the lovely Shanah, over at thebionicbookworm. the second topic for November was,

BOOKS THAT HAVE BEEN ON MY TBR THE LONGEST

So let’s get on with the shame then? Funilly enough, I recently cleared out my TBR shelf because it was getting to be way too much for me, and while those books haven’t gone anywhere (other than a box) I’ll only be picking from what I now call my TBR (aka books I actually want to read)

MANSFIELD PARK

I just haven’t been in the mood for a classic, you know? I think I got this one around late 2015

THREE DARK CROWNS

This one is kind of sad, my mum knew I wanted this, so she got it for me (thanks mum!) and then…… I never read it. I think this was in December 2016?

RED QUEEN

Okay okay, I REALLY want to give this a go, before I get too into other books BUT I just keep on, never picking it up? I think I got this in about Feburary 2017

HEARTLESS

So, I only got this, because it was a ‘buy 1 get your second half off’ deal at a local bookstore which is the only time I buy from there, and I deprecatory wanted HUNTED, So i got this too because I WAS interested in it… and now, I don’t know, I just, haven’t picked it up? I believe I got this, in maybe, march 2017?

And finally?

THE SECRET HISTORY

I had heard such good things about this and REALLY wanted to give it a go, so I got it on BookDepository…. in Janurary 2017 I know it’s not that old, but I can’t see myself picking it or any of these other books up any time soon, whoops?

So that’s it for today, thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you guys have a good day,

Till next time,
Sarah

  1. I don’t know about the others, but I really hope you will pick up The Secret History at some point because it’s just so great and the characters are so messed-up and everything about that book is thrilling. It’s really nice to see this kind of post, I guess they make me feel better about my huuuge pile of books that have been there for way too long. ❤

    1. Ooooooh now I have to pick up the secret history at some point soon! And I have over 100 books to read so I totally understand that drowning feeling that comes with a big pile ❤️

  2. You’re not missing out on Mansfield Park. It’s the only book from my Austen class that I DNF’d because it was so boring I couldn’t get into it! (Whoops – that’s probably not helping you read it…)

But I agree that The Secret History is a pretty good book. I got it for Christmas a few years ago and even my mother liked it.

    1. I’ve owned it for so long and I just keep not picking it up!!! I loved pride and prejudice so I’ll have to give it a go eventually!

I haven’t heard a single bad thing about the secret history, maybe I need to pick it up soon
